Here are this week’s Arts Notes from the Del Norte Association of Cultural Awareness (DNACA):
• March 15: DNACA presents award winning Celtic rock group The Derina Harvey Band. The performance will be at the Crescent Elk Auditorium, 994 G. St., in Crescent City at 3:00p.m. Tickets are $25 general admission, $23 seniors and veterans and $20 students. Tickets are available at DNACA.Eventbrite.com.
• March 20: DNACA presents Echoes Within Sound Bath in celebration of the spring equinox. Facilitated by professional musician and certified yoga and meditation instructor Oren Selah, this will be a guided meditation in a relaxing acoustic soundscape. Bring your yoga mats, blankets and pillows for comfort. Chairs will also be provided. There is a suggested donation of $5 to $20. This event will be held at the Tapestry Arts Center, a.k.a. The Church of the Nazarene, 224 F. St. in Crescent City, from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
• On display until April 9: DNACA showcases artwork in memoriam of artist Kathy McKenzie Duncan at the Del Norte County Courthouse, 450 H St. in Crescent City. The courthouse is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
• On display until April 9: In collaboration with DNACA, the Del Norte County Regional Airport, and the Crescent City, view life-size photos of Tolowa Dee-Ni’ Nation ancestors at the airport, 1650 Dale Rupert Rd. in Crescent City. This exhibition celebrates the Tolowa Cultural Trail coming to Beachfront Park.
• On display until April 23: In collaboration with DNACA and the Humboldt Art Council, view the Natsoulas Collection in the College of the Redwoods’ Floyd Bettiga Gallery hallway. This assortment of California artists is on loan from Eureka’s Morris Graves Museum of Art. Visitors are welcome during school hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at CR’s Del Norte Campus, 883 W. Washington Boulevard in Crescent City.
